Organising your holiday could never be easier and a lot of the time cheaper !!! Here are a few travel tips which we hope you find useful in organising your summer or winter holiday.

Airports
Westendorf is within easy reach of three major airports, Munich 150kms, Salzburg 80kms and Innsbruck 80kms.

In winter many airlines operate to the region from all over the UK. Flights often used are Thomson Fly - Salzburg, Easy Jet - Innsbruck, Ryan Air - Salzburg and Lufthansa - Munich but many companies also operate from smaller regional airports.

Links are available to all the most common airlines will help in your search for the most appropriate flight.

Airport transfers
With our own minibus we can now offer to our guests transfers to and from the airport and railway station.

Sometimes it may be more cost effective to use the shuttle service but we will advise accordingly.

Train Services
Westendorf is accessible by train, with the train station approximately 1.5km from the village centre.
Journeys from each airport take approximately 30 minutes to the main railway station in each city and then journeys can take between 1½ and 2½ hours to reach Westendorf.
Most journeys require a change in Worgl .

Bus Service
Regular bus services operate between Worgl and Kitzbuehel to the centre of the village.

Driving Directions:

From Germany
Follow the motorway München - Kufstein - exit Wörgl/Ost. Follow signs for "Brixental".
Westendorf is situated approximately 20 minutes from the motorway.
Keep following the signs for Brixental and Westendorf is situated approximately 4 km after Hopfgarten.

From Italy and Switzerland
Follow motorway signs for Innsbruck-Kufstein, exit Wörgl/Ost. Follow signs for "Brixental".

Car Hire
We are often asked is it best to hire a car whilst here for a skiing holiday. Most people are happier organising a transfer rather than driving, but it also depends on what you might want to do here in Westendorf. Everything in the village is within walking distance.

Cars are often left parked for the whole week, but others have used them for trips away from the village or driving to other ski regions.

If you wanted to ski in Brixen, it meant a bus ride or a drive. However from December 08 there is a new gondola linking Brixen and Westendorf – negating the need for either a bus or car.

If you put us on the spot my observations tell me that if you are here to ski all week then don’t bother hiring a car.
